Recently in Marbella, Spain, Belgian native Kim Clijsters, nationally ranked in the top ten, lost in the second round of the Andalucia Open to Spain native Beatriz Garcia Vidagany. Clijsters, who recently won her second title of the year in Miami struggled with her serve. The tournament was played on clay, which is not Clijsters strong point. She agreed to the tournament in preparation for the French Open coming up. Vidagany qualified for the tournament last minute as a wild card. This was her first main draw appearence on the WTA (Womens Tennis Association) Tour, also known as the Sony Ericsson Tour.Vidagany defeated Clijsters 7-5, 4-6, 6-4. This is a big break for Vidagany herself and also for the country of Spain.
